Ultra-High Performance Concrete (UHPC) has a high-strength, compact nano-matrix with an internal steel fiber reinforcement for added ductility. The material is formulated by combining Portland cement, silica fume, supplementary cementing materials, quartz flour, fine silica sand, high-range water reducers and fibers.
Due to its excellent material properties UHPC can be used to enhance and rehabilitate concrete infrastructures while extending their service life and greatly reducing future maintenance cost.
The characteristics and performance of UHPC depends on selected material supplier, type of formulation, curing conditions, and installation method.
